Solenoid Valve
In an automatic transmission (AT), this operates the shift valve so as to switch oil channels according to commands from the ECU, and gears are shifted.
As a way of satisfying fuel efficiency regulations, the weight of the solenoid body has been reduced by changing its material from iron to aluminum, and magnetic efficiency has been increased by redesigning the magnetic path, enabling reduction of coil space in size. Also, the high thrust solenoid design enables control of hydraulic pressure over a wide range, and oil flow at low temperatures is ensured and highly-responsive switching of the shift valve is delivered by optimizing the valve settings.
